Mohamed Aboutrika

Mohamed Aboutrika (born November 17, 1978) is a retired Egyptian professional footballer widely considered one of the greatest African football players of his generation. Playing as a midfielder, Aboutrika was the heart of Egypt's national team during their most successful period, winning three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations championships (2006, 2008, 2010). He was also instrumental in guiding Egypt to the 2009 Confederations Cup final. Known for his exceptional technical skills, vision, work rate, and leadership on the pitch, Aboutrika became a national hero in Egypt and across Africa. He spent much of his club career in Europe, playing for notable teams including Benfica and Zamalek.
