Roberto Carlos

Roberto Carlos da Silva (born April 10, 1973) is a retired Brazilian professional footballer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest left-backs to ever play the sport. Born in São Vicente, São Paulo, Brazil, Carlos rose from humble beginnings to become an international football icon, spending much of his career at Spain's Real Madrid, where he won multiple La Liga titles and UEFA Champions League trophies. Famous for his explosive pace, technical proficiency with the ball, and particularly his devastating left-footed free kicks, Carlos revolutionized the full-back position by combining defensive solidity with attacking prowess. His free-kick technique, characterized by powerful curve and precision, became one of football's most distinctive features and inspired numerous imitators. During his 12 seasons at Real Madrid (1996-2007), he helped establish the club as a European powerhouse and became a beloved figure at the Bernabéu.
