Ricky Schroder

Richard Bartlett Schroder (born April 13, 1966), professionally known as Ricky Schroder, is an American actor and producer with a career spanning five decades in television and film. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he achieved early prominence as a child actor, earning an Academy Award nomination at age nine for his role in the 1979 film 'The Champ,' one of the youngest male performers ever nominated for an Oscar. Following his film breakthrough, Schroder became a television star in the 1980s playing the title character Richard 'Ricky' Stratton Jr. in the sitcom 'Silver Spoons' (1982-1988), where he worked alongside Joel Higgins.
