Napoleon Hill
Author of 'Think and Grow Rich', self-help pioneer
Napoleon Hill (October 26, 1883 – November 8, 1970) was an American author and motivational speaker whose work fundamentally shaped the self-help and personal development genre. Born in poverty in rural Virginia, Hill rose to prominence through his extensive research on successful individuals, including a long association with steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. His most famous work, 'Think and Grow Rich' (1937), became one of the best-selling books of all time, selling millions of copies worldwide and influencing countless entrepreneurs and self-help enthusiasts. The book articulates Hill's philosophy that success stems from positive mental attitudes, clear goal-setting, and persistent effort. Hill's teachings on the power of thought and visualization became foundational to modern self-help literature and the Law of Attraction movement. Beyond 'Think and Grow Rich,' he authored numerous other books and founded the Napoleon Hill Foundation to continue promoting his ideas. His work remains widely read and influential in business and personal development circles more than 50 years after his death.

Thinking about the name
Napoleon
Italian origin
“Derived from the Italian Napoleone, possibly meaning 'lion of the new city' or related to neapolis (Greek for 'new city'). Forever associated with the French military leader Napoleon Bonaparte, the name carries connotations of ambition, power, and historical significance, though it remains relatively uncommon as a given name outside of French and Italian cultures.”
