Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was an Italian polymath of the High Renaissance period whose genius spanned art, science, engineering, anatomy, and natural philosophy. Born in the small town of Vinci near Florence, Leonardo became an apprentice to the artist Andrea del Verrocchio before establishing himself as a master of painting. His works, including the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, represent the pinnacle of Renaissance art and continue to captivate audiences worldwide. Beyond painting, Leonardo filled thousands of notebook pages with detailed anatomical drawings, engineering designs for flying machines, military weapons, and hydraulic systems—many concepts that would not be practically realized for centuries.
