Giacomo Antonio LaMotta (1921–2017), known professionally as Jake LaMotta, was an American professional boxer born in New York City who became a middleweight champion and one of boxing's most memorable figures. Throughout his career in the 1940s and 1950s, LaMotta fought 106 bouts, winning 83 of them, and was known for his exceptional durability, powerful right hand, and aggressive fighting style. He famously defeated former champion Gene Fullmer and earned the middleweight title, though his career was marked by controversial decisions and fights with rivals including Sugar Ray Robinson.
