Eddy Merckx (born June 17, 1945) is a Belgian professional cyclist regarded by many as the greatest cyclist in history. Between 1969 and 1975, Merckx won an extraordinary number of races, including five Tour de France titles, the Giro d'Italia three times, and the Vuelta a España once, making him one of only eight riders to win all three Grand Tours.
