Ben Bernanke

Ben Bernanke (born December 13, 1953) is an American economist who served as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve from 2006 to 2014, a period encompassing the most severe financial crisis since the Great Depression. A native of South Carolina, Bernanke earned his Ph.D. in economics from MIT and spent much of his academic career studying the Great Depression, which informed his approach to the 2008 financial crisis.
