Tony Hawk

Tony Hawk (born Anthony Frank Hawk on May 12, 1968) is an American professional skateboarder widely regarded as the greatest skateboarder of all time. Born in San Diego, California, Hawk turned professional at age 14 and became famous for inventing the 900, a two-and-a-half aerial spin that became an iconic skateboarding move. His technical skill, innovative approach, and marketability transformed skateboarding from a fringe activity into a mainstream sport and cultural phenomenon. Hawk won numerous X Games medals and world championships throughout his career. Beyond competition, he created the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series, which introduced skateboarding to millions and became a cultural touchstone of 1990s-2000s entertainment. He founded the Tony Hawk Foundation to build skateparks in underserved communities, demonstrating commitment to the sport's accessibility.
