CEO of Apple Inc., led company to $1 trillion valuation
Timothy Donald Cook (born November 1, 1960) is an American business executive who serves as Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc., one of the world's most valuable and influential technology companies. Born in Robertsdale, Alabama, Cook studied industrial engineering at Auburn University and earned an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He began his career in IBM's manufacturing operations before joining Compaq and later Dell, where he managed global procurement and supply chain operations. In 1998, Steve Jobs recruited Cook to Apple as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations, where he revolutionized the company's supply chain and manufacturing processes. When Jobs became ill, Cook assumed increasing operational responsibilities, demonstrating exceptional business acumen and leadership. Following Jobs' death in 2011, Cook became CEO at age 50. Under Cook's leadership, Apple has achieved unprecedented financial success, becoming the first publicly traded company to reach $1 trillion market capitalization. He has expanded Apple's services revenue, strengthened the company's design and innovation culture, and navigated the company through the loss of its iconic founder. Cook is also noted for his advocacy for privacy, environmental sustainability, and LGBTQ+ rights, becoming one of the first major tech CEOs to publicly discuss his sexual orientation. His tenure represents the successful transition of a legendary company from founder-led to professionally managed operations while maintaining its core identity.

Thinking about the name
Timmy
Greek origin
“A classic American diminutive of Timothy, derived from the Greek Timotheos, meaning 'honoring God.' Timmy has the warmth and familiarity of a childhood nickname while maintaining enough substance for everyday use. It evokes a friendly, approachable boy—the kind who'd be popular in any era.”
