Thiago Motta (born August 28, 1982) is an Italian-Brazilian professional footballer turned manager. Born in Brazil to an Italian father and Brazilian mother, Motta represented Italy internationally and had a distinguished playing career spanning two decades. He began his career at Parma, where he developed into a skilled midfielder known for his athleticism and versatility. His move to Inter Milan in 2005 marked a significant advancement, where he became a key player in their midfield during their successful period, winning Serie A titles. In 2012, Motta joined Paris Saint-Germain, where he was part of their squad during their expansion into a European powerhouse, helping them win multiple Ligue 1 titles. Known for his work rate, tactical intelligence, and physical presence, Motta was a reliable midfielder who played over 100 times for Italy. After retiring as a player in 2018, he transitioned into management, coaching Genoa and later becoming the manager of Bologna, where he has impressed with his tactical acumen and ability to develop teams.
