Teresa Teng

Teresa Teng Lijun (January 29, 1953 – May 8, 1995) was a Taiwanese-born pop singer and recording artist who became one of the most influential and beloved entertainers in East Asian history. Born in Nankang, Taipei, Teng rose to international stardom during the 1970s and 1980s, captivating audiences across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and mainland China with her ethereal voice and romantic ballads. Her ability to sing in multiple languages—including Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and English—made her uniquely accessible to diverse audiences.
