Steve Nash

Stephen John Nash (born February 7, 1974) is a Canadian professional basketball player and coach widely regarded as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to Canadian parents and raised in British Columbia, Nash played college basketball at Santa Clara University before joining the NBA in 1996. After early years with the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, Nash returned to Phoenix in 2004, where he transformed the team into an offensive juggernaut, winning back-to-back NBA MVP awards in 2005 and 2006—remarkable achievements for a point guard in an era dominated by superstar forwards and centers. Known for his exceptional ball-handling, court vision, three-point shooting, and basketball intelligence, Nash revolutionized the point guard position and influenced how modern offenses are structured. He was an eight-time NBA All-Star and made the All-NBA Team eleven times. His career spanned 18 seasons with multiple teams, and he finished his playing career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
