Spiros Louis

Spiros Louis (January 12, 1873 – March 26, 1940) was a Greek athlete who became an international sports legend by winning the marathon event at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. As a water carrier by trade, Louis was not a professional athlete, making his Olympic victory all the more remarkable and inspiring to people worldwide.
