Sharron Angle

Sharron Angle (born May 3, 1962) is an American politician and former Nevada state legislator who became a prominent figure in the Tea Party movement during the 2010 mid-term elections. Running as the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Harry Reid, Angle's campaign energized conservative grassroots supporters who opposed government expansion and advocated for fiscal conservatism. Though her Senate bid was ultimately unsuccessful, her campaign symbolized the Tea Party movement's influence on American politics during this period. Angle had previously served in the Nevada Assembly and established herself as a vocal conservative.
