Roman Reigns
WWE wrestler, multiple-time world champion, The Shield member
Roman Reigns (born May 25, 1987), whose real name is Leati Joseph Anoa'i, is an American professional wrestler and actor who has become one of the most prominent figures in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Born in Pensacola, Florida, to a renowned Samoan wrestling family (his father is WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa'i, and he is related to numerous other wrestling legends), Reigns seemed destined for the wrestling world from childhood. He initially pursued a career in professional football, playing college football at Georgia Tech before transitioning to professional wrestling after his football career was cut short by injuries. After training at the WWE Performance Center, Reigns debuted in WWE in 2012 as a member of the group The Shield alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. His individual rise was meteoric; he quickly became one of WWE's primary attractions and multiple-time world champion, winning the WWE Championship and Universal Championship numerous times throughout his career. Known for his distinctive look, powerful in-ring presence, and commanding microphone skills, Reigns has main-evented multiple WrestleManias, wrestling's flagship annual event. Beyond wrestling, he has pursued acting, appearing in films and television shows, leveraging his charisma and physical presence in entertainment beyond wrestling. In 2020, Reigns revealed his struggle with leukemia, which he had previously battled; his openness about his health challenges resonated with fans and added depth to his public persona. As of recent years, Reigns continues to be WWE's top star, headlining major pay-per-view events and championships, maintaining his status as one of professional wrestling's biggest draws and cultural figures.

Thinking about the name
Roman
Latin origin
“Derived from the Latin Romanus, meaning 'of or from Rome,' Roman is one of the most enduringly powerful classical names, evoking the grandeur of the Roman Empire. The name has been borne by emperors, saints, and contemporary figures across cultures, making it both historically weighty and universally recognizable. It strikes a rare balance—simultaneously strong and approachable, classical yet utterly contemporary.”
