Rickey Williams Jr. (born May 21, 1977) is an American former professional football player who played running back in the National Football League for 12 seasons. Selected 5th overall in the 1999 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints after a stellar college career at the University of Texas, where he won the Heisman Trophy, Williams spent the majority of his professional career with the Miami Dolphins. Known for his exceptional vision, lateral movement, and balance, Williams was one of the most elusive runners in NFL history, averaging 4.3 yards per carry during his career. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and rushed for over 10,000 yards during his NFL career. His playing style was marked by his lateral agility and ability to find running lanes that seemed nonexistent, making him a fan favorite.
