Renée Jeanne Falconetti (1896-1946) was a French-Danish actress whose extraordinary performance in Carl Theodor Dreyer's 'The Passion of Joan of Arc' (1928) remains one of cinema's most powerful and celebrated achievements. Born in Paris, Falconetti had a background in theater and legitimate stage drama before her film career.
