Pius Adesanmi (February 20, 1967 – March 10, 2019) was a renowned Nigerian author, literary critic, and cultural commentator whose sharp essays and social commentary made him a significant figure in contemporary African intellectual life. Educated at universities in Nigeria and Canada, Adesanmi held academic positions across the globe, teaching African literature and cultural studies. His writing was characterized by wit, erudition, and unflinching critique of political corruption, social injustice, and cultural hypocrisy in Africa and the diaspora. Collections of his essays, including "Naija Jesus and Other Stories," demonstrated his ability to blend humor with serious social analysis.
