Perry Farrell

Perry Bernstein, professionally known as Perry Farrell (born March 29, 1959), is an American musician, vocalist, and entrepreneur born in Queens, New York. He is best known as the founder and creative force behind Jane's Addiction, the groundbreaking alternative rock band that emerged from Los Angeles in the late 1980s and became one of the defining acts of 1990s rock music. Jane's Addiction's innovative blend of funk, punk, and progressive rock, combined with Farrell's charismatic stage presence and artistic vision, helped establish alternative rock in the mainstream. Beyond his work with Jane's Addiction, Farrell has pursued a successful solo career and founded Lollapalooza, the influential touring music festival that began in 1991 as a farewell tour and evolved into one of the world's largest and most prestigious music festivals.
