Octavio Dotel

Octavio Eduardo Dotel Guerra (November 25, 1973 – June 13, 2017) was a Dominican professional baseball player who enjoyed one of the longest and most itinerant pitching careers in Major League Baseball history. Beginning his career with the Houston Astros in 1996, Dotel played for an unusually high number of teams—13 in total—throughout his 20-year career, which spanned from 1996 to 2012. Standing at 6'0" with a powerful fastball and impressive curveball, Dotel was a reliable relief and starting pitcher who was valued for his durability and ability to perform under pressure. He appeared in multiple All-Star games and World Series competitions, earning respect from teammates and opponents alike for his work ethic and competitive nature.
