Nery Pumpido

Nery Pumpido (born 1957) is an Argentine professional goalkeeper who is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in Argentine football history. Born in Buenos Aires, Pumpido spent much of his career with River Plate, where he established himself as a reliable and talented custodian of the goal during the club's most successful period in the 1980s and 1990s. He earned 36 caps for the Argentine national team and competed in the 1990 FIFA World Cup, representing his country on the international stage.
