Merry Brandybuck

Merry Brandybuck, whose full name is Meriadoc Brandybuck, is one of the central characters in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit appendices. As a member of the Fellowship of the Ring and cousin to Pippin, Merry represents the archetype of the reluctant hero—a young hobbit thrust into extraordinary circumstances who rises to meet the challenge with courage and cunning.
