Germanic origin
“A streamlined variant of Merrill, this three-syllable form maintains the authoritative Germanic 'famous ruler' meaning while feeling contemporary and efficient. The single-l spelling removes the softer associations, creating a name suitable for any gender with clean, modern appeal.”
