Margaretta Morris

Margaretta Morris (1797-1867) was a pioneering American naturalist whose work in entomology contributed meaningfully to 19th-century natural science during an era when women's participation in scientific endeavors was severely limited. Born in Philadelphia to a Quaker family, Morris developed an early passion for observing insects and natural phenomena.
