Makaila Ulmer
Founder of Makaila's Lemonade, young entrepreneur
Makaila Ulmer (born 2003) is an American entrepreneur and businesswoman who founded Makaila's Lemonade at the age of four, making her one of the youngest founders of a commercial beverage company. Growing up in Austin, Texas, Makaila was motivated by a personal health crisis at age three when she suffered from a severe stomach illness that she later discovered could be alleviated through natural remedies and organic foods. Inspired by her recovery, she began creating her own lemonade recipe using organic lemons and natural ingredients, initially selling at local farmer's markets. Her entrepreneurial venture quickly gained traction, with her lemonades becoming increasingly popular in Austin before expanding distribution nationally. By her early teens, Makaila's Lemonade was being sold in major retailers across the United States, and she had built a multimillion-dollar brand. Her success as a young Black female entrepreneur has made her an influential figure in youth entrepreneurship and business education. Ulmer has appeared on national media platforms, spoken at conferences, and advocates for young entrepreneurs to pursue their passions and create positive change in their communities.

Makaila
American origin
“A feminine variant blending the Hawaiian Maka- root with the popular -aila ending found in modern names like Kayla and Layla. This name carries sophistication through its soft vowel sounds while maintaining connection to Hawaiian cultural elements.”
