Lindsey Vonn
Olympic gold medalist alpine skier, three-time World Cup champion
Lindsey Caroline Vonn (born October 18, 1984) is an American former alpine skier who is widely considered one of the greatest ski racers of all time. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Vonn began skiing competitively at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of international competition. She won the gold medal in downhill skiing at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and defended her Olympic title in 2014 in Sochi. Vonn captured the World Cup overall title three times and won numerous individual medals at World Championships across all five alpine disciplines. Known for her aggressive skiing style and mental toughness, she overcame multiple serious injuries throughout her career, including a near-career-ending knee injury in 2013. Her competitive drive and resilience made her an iconic figure in winter sports, and she became one of the most recognizable American athletes globally. Vonn retired from professional skiing in 2019 and has since pursued various business ventures and media appearances.
