Liam Gallagher
Lead singer of Oasis, Britpop icon
Liam Gallagher (born September 21, 1972) is an English rock musician best known as the lead vocalist of Oasis, the Manchester-based band that became a defining force in 1990s British rock and the broader Britpop movement. Alongside his brother Noel, Gallagher helped create some of the decade's most iconic anthems, including "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Champagne Supernova." Known for his powerful, distinctive vocal style and charismatic stage presence, Gallagher became as famous for his rebellious behavior and controversial public statements as for his musical talents. The band achieved massive commercial success, with their 1995 debut album Definitely Maybe becoming the fastest-selling debut album in British history at the time. Oasis disbanded in 2009 following escalating tensions between the brothers, but reunited in 2025 for a highly anticipated tour. Beyond Oasis, Gallagher has pursued a solo career and remains a prominent figure in rock music, representing a generation's cultural icon and embodying the raw energy of 90s British rock.
