Laveda Durst

Laveda Durst (1939–1961) was a young American woman whose mysterious disappearance from a ranch near Addison, Texas in July 1961 became one of the state's most notable unsolved cases for decades. Durst vanished without a trace when she was approximately 22 years old, and her case remained cold for over 60 years. In 2019, confessed serial killer Samuel Little claimed responsibility for her murder, providing details that investigators verified, finally bringing closure to one of Texas's longest-standing missing persons cases. Little, who confessed to murdering over 60 women across the United States between 1970 and 2005, cited Durst as one of his victims from his early criminal activity.
