Konrad Curze

Konrad Curze, also known as the Night Haunter and the Eighth Primarch, is a central figure in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe and the Horus Heresy narrative. Raised on the crime-ridden world of Nostramo, Curze developed into a dark, brooding warrior whose Legion—the Night Lords—became infamous for psychological warfare, terror tactics, and ruthless efficiency. Unlike many Primarchs, Curze struggled with visions of a dark future and questioned his own purpose, making him one of the most philosophically complex characters in the setting. His fall to Chaos during the Horus Heresy is portrayed as both tragic and inevitable, driven by his despair and the validation his darker impulses received. Despite—or because of—his moral ambiguity and brutality, Curze became a fan-favorite character whose internal conflict and complex motivations resonate with readers.
