Kirstie Louise Alley (January 12, 1951 – December 5, 2023) was an American actress and television personality who achieved prominence in the 1980s and remained a recognizable figure in entertainment for over four decades. Born in Wichita, Kansas, Alley studied drama at Kansas State University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She gained her breakthrough role as Rebecca Howe on the hugely popular NBC sitcom 'Cheers' (1987-1993), earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for the part. Her comedic timing and chemistry with the ensemble cast made her a beloved figure in American television. Beyond 'Cheers,' Alley appeared in numerous films and television shows, including the 'Star Trek' film series and the sitcom 'Veronica's Closet.'
