Katrina Elaine Leskanich

Katrina Elaine Leskanich (born April 10, 1960) is an American-born British singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the lead vocalist and primary creative force behind the pop rock band Katrina and the Waves. Raised in the Bronx, New York, Leskanich developed her passion for music from an early age and eventually relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her musical ambitions. As the frontwoman of Katrina and the Waves, she co-wrote and performed on several successful albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The band's signature song 'Walking on Sunshine,' released in 1985, became an international smash hit, charting in numerous countries and establishing itself as one of the most recognizable and beloved pop songs of all time.
