Judy Holliday

Judy Holliday (June 21, 1921 – June 7, 1965) was an American actress, singer, and comedian who became one of the most talented entertainers of the 1940s and 1950s. Born Judith Tuvim in New York City, Holliday began her career in theater with the improvisational group The Revuers before transitioning to film. Her breakthrough role came in 'Born Yesterday' (1950), where she portrayed Billie Dawn with remarkable comedic sophistication and vulnerability, winning the Academy Award for Best Actress at age 29. The role demonstrated her exceptional range—playing a seemingly naive woman who reveals hidden intelligence and independence.
