Josh Beckett (May 15, 1980) is a retired American professional baseball pitcher who had a distinguished career spanning 17 seasons in Major League Baseball. Born in Spring, Texas, Beckett was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 1999 and quickly established himself as one of baseball's premier pitchers. He earned his first World Series ring in 2003 with the Marlins at just 23 years old, becoming one of the youngest pitchers to win a championship. Beckett was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008 and subsequently to the Boston Red Sox, where he became an ace in their rotation and won a second World Series title in 2013. Known for his powerful fastball, competitive drive, and postseason success, Beckett compiled an impressive career record and was selected to multiple All-Star games.
