Jeffrey Katzenberg

Jeffrey Katzenberg (born December 21, 1951) is an American film executive and entrepreneur who has been one of the most influential and powerful figures in the entertainment industry for over three decades. Born in New York, Katzenberg studied at NYU's Stern School of Business before entering the entertainment industry. He worked his way up through Paramount Pictures before joining The Walt Disney Company in 1984, where he eventually became Chairman of Walt Disney Studios, overseeing the studio's renaissance during the late 1980s and 1990s with landmark animated films including 'The Little Mermaid,' 'Beauty and the Beast,' 'Aladdin,' and 'The Lion King.' Under Katzenberg's leadership, Disney Animation Studios became the dominant force in animation globally. In 1994, Katzenberg co-founded DreamWorks Animation with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen, a studio that revolutionized computer animation and produced enormously successful franchises including 'Shrek,' 'Madagascar,' and 'Kung Fu Panda.' DreamWorks became one of the most successful animation studios in history. Katzenberg's vision, creative judgment, and business acumen shaped major entertainment properties that influenced global popular culture.
