Iker Casillas Fernández (born May 21, 1981) is a Spanish retired professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper and is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history. Born in Móstoles, Madrid, Casillas spent the majority of his 25-year professional career at Real Madrid, where he made over 700 appearances and became a symbol of the club's dominance during the late 1990s and 2000s. He won two UEFA Champions League titles (2000, 2002), multiple La Liga championships, and was a key member of Spain's national team during their golden generation, winning the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012, as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2010. Known for his exceptional reflexes, command of the penalty area, and leadership qualities, Casillas was named to the FIFA World Team of the Year multiple times. After leaving Real Madrid in 2015, he played for Porto and briefly for Rayo Vallecano before retiring in 2020.
