Herschel Julius Walker (born March 3, 1962) is an American former professional football player who became one of the most dominant running backs in sports history. Playing college football for the University of Georgia from 1980 to 1982, Walker won the Heisman Trophy in 1982, awarded to college football's most outstanding player. His extraordinary athleticism, strength, and running ability made him a generational talent even during his college years. After his collegiate success, Walker was drafted by the New Jersey Generals of the USFL and subsequently played for multiple NFL teams including the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants over a 12-year professional career.
