Hamzah Bin Laden
Al-Qaeda operative, son of Osama bin Laden
Hamzah bin Muhammad bin Awad bin Laden (1989–2019) was a son of Osama bin Laden who followed in his father's footsteps by becoming active in al-Qaeda operations. Born to one of Osama's wives, Hamzah was groomed within the terrorist organization and emerged as a significant operational figure in the 2010s. The U.S. government designated him as a terrorist in 2017, and he became increasingly prominent in al-Qaeda's media and propaganda efforts, appearing in videos and audio recordings promoting the organization's ideology and operations. He was killed in a U.S. military operation in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region in February 2019. His death marked the elimination of a key second-generation terrorist leader and was considered a significant blow to al-Qaeda's command structure during a period when the organization was attempting to maintain relevance amid competition from ISIS.

Thinking about the name
Hamzah
Arabic origin
“Derived from Arabic meaning 'lion' or 'strong,' Hamzah carries connotations of power and courage in Islamic tradition. The name is historically significant as it was borne by Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, the uncle and companion of the Prophet Muhammad, revered as one of Islam's greatest warriors. It remains deeply rooted in Muslim naming culture across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.”
