Harold Rowe Holbrook Jr. (September 17, 1925 – January 23, 2021) was an American actor, screenwriter, and producer with one of the longest careers in entertainment history. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Holbrook became famous for his one-man show 'Mark Twain Tonight!' which he performed over 2,000 times starting in 1954, earning him a Tony Award and multiple Emmy nominations. His portrayal of the American humorist became legendary, showcasing his remarkable ability to embody complex characters with nuance and authenticity. Beyond his theatrical achievements, Holbrook had an extensive film and television career, with notable roles in 'All the President's Men' (1976) where he played the mysterious informant Deep Throat, and appearances in numerous television dramas.
