Hal Ashby

Harold Warren Ashby Jr. (September 21, 1929 – December 27, 1988) was an American film director and editor who became one of the most celebrated filmmakers of the 1970s. Born in Nevada, Ashby initially worked as an editor before transitioning to directing, where he quickly made an impact with his distinctive visual style and humanistic approach to storytelling.
