Hagen von Tronje is one of the central figures in the Nibelungenlied, a Middle High German epic poem composed in the early 13th century. In the legend, Hagen serves as a vassal and advisor to King Gunther of Burgundy, and is known for his loyalty, military prowess, and cunning.
