Gil de Ferran (born February 22, 1967) is a Brazilian-American professional auto racing driver and team owner who has achieved significant success in open-wheel racing. Born in Paris to a Brazilian family, de Ferran moved to the United States and established himself as a competitive driver in CART (Championship Auto Racing Teams) and the Indianapolis 500, one of motorsports' most prestigious races. In 2000, he won the coveted Indianapolis 500, one of the most significant achievements in auto racing.
