Enzo Francescoli

Juan Enzo Francescoli Uribarri (November 12, 1961 – present) is a retired Uruguayan footballer widely considered one of the finest South American players of his era. Born in Montevideo, Francescoli earned the romantic nickname 'El Príncipe' (The Prince) for his graceful playing style and exceptional technical abilities. He spent much of his career in Europe, notably playing for River Plate in Argentina and AS Monaco in France, where he became a fan favorite through his creativity, vision, and leadership. Francescoli was a key figure in River Plate's Copa Libertadores victories and represented Uruguay in two FIFA World Cups (1986 and 1990). Known for his intelligence on the pitch, left-footed precision, and ability to control the tempo of matches, he influenced a generation of South American footballers.
