Elliot Page (born February 21, 1987) is a Canadian actor and LGBTQ+ advocate who has starred in numerous critically acclaimed films and television series. Page gained widespread recognition for the role of Juno MacGuff in the 2007 coming-of-age film Juno, earning an Academy Award nomination at age 19. He went on to appear in major films including Inception (2010), where he played Ariadne, and The East (2013). On television, Page starred as Officer Murphy "Mutt" Schemmenti in Degrassi: The Next Generation for several years and more recently gained prominence for the role of Vanya Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. In December 2020, Page publicly came out as transgender, becoming one of the most prominent openly transgender figures in the entertainment industry. Since his coming out, Page has been an outspoken advocate for transgender rights, LGBTQ+ visibility, and mental health awareness. His roles continue to showcase his range as an actor, and he has become an important cultural figure representing progress in LGBTQ+ representation in mainstream entertainment, contributing to broader conversations about identity, acceptance, and inclusion in Hollywood.
