Donita Sparks (born May 8, 1963) is an American rock musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the all-female rock band L7. Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, L7 became one of the most influential bands of the grunge and alternative rock era, known for their heavy, distorted sound and provocative live performances. Sparks co-founded the band during a time when female-fronted rock bands were rare in the mainstream music industry, making L7 pioneers of the feminist rock movement. The band achieved commercial success with albums like 'Bricks Are Heavy' (1992) and 'Hungry for Stink' (1994), earning multiple Grammy nominations and MTV exposure.
