Thinking about the name
Derrill
French origin
“A double-l variant of Derril, itself derived from Old French 'Durrell' meaning 'dear.' The extra 'l' gives this spelling a slightly more formal, deliberate appearance while maintaining the friendly sound of the -er family. This version reflects African American naming conventions from the late 20th century.”
