DeMarkus Ware (July 31, 1982 – present) is a retired American football linebacker and defensive end who had a Hall of Fame-caliber career in the National Football League. Born in Auburn, Alabama, Ware was drafted 11th overall in 2005 by the Dallas Cowboys, where he became the cornerstone of their defense for nine seasons. Standing 6'4" and weighing 260 pounds, Ware was known for his explosive athleticism, relentless pass-rushing ability, and leadership on the field. During his tenure with the Cowboys (2005-2013), he accumulated 117.5 sacks, establishing himself as one of the most dominant defensive players of his era. In 2013, Ware signed with the Denver Broncos, where he won Super Bowl 50 in 2016 alongside quarterback Peyton Manning, capping off an illustrious career. Over his 12-year NFL career, Ware recorded 138.5 career sacks, was selected to nine Pro Bowls, and was named First-team All-Pro five times. His consistency, work ethic, and professionalism made him a respected mentor to younger players. Though still awaiting Hall of Fame selection, Ware's impact on the game and particularly on the Dallas Cowboys' defensive legacy remains significant.
