Damon Graham Hill (born September 17, 1960) is a British former racing driver who achieved the pinnacle of motorsport success by winning the 1996 Formula One World Championship. Born in London, Damon followed his father Graham Hill—himself a two-time F1 World Champion—into professional racing, though he forged his own distinguished career path. After success in junior categories and sports car racing, Hill joined the Formula One grid in 1992 with Brabham, later moving to Williams where he found his greatest success. His 1996 championship season was particularly dominant, featuring 8 victories and 15 podium finishes. Hill became the second son of an F1 world champion to also win the title (after Nelson Piquet Jr.'s father), cementing his place in motorsport history. Beyond his championship, Hill achieved 22 Grand Prix victories and 42 podium finishes during his F1 career (1992-1999). Known for his professionalism, consistency, and mental toughness, Hill was respected by competitors and fans alike. After retiring from F1, he pursued other racing endeavors and later became a prominent television commentator and analyst for Formula One broadcasts, bringing his insider expertise to global audiences. His articulate analysis and approachable demeanor made him one of the sport's most respected voices.
