Carmine Appice (born 1946) is an American rock drummer who has had a legendary career spanning over five decades, making him one of the most respected and influential drummers in rock music history. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Appice rose to prominence in the late 1960s as the drummer for Vanilla Fudge, where his powerful, dynamic playing style helped define the heavy rock sound. He went on to play with numerous influential bands including Cactus, where he developed his signature heavy, hard rock drumming style. As part of the supergroup Beck, Bogert & Appice, he collaborated with guitar legend Jeff Beck and bassist Tim Bogert, creating some of the most celebrated rock music of the early 1970s.
