Brian Douglas Wilson (born June 20, 1942) is an American musician and songwriter best known as the founder, primary songwriter, and creative force behind The Beach Boys, one of the most influential pop bands in music history. Born in Inglewood, California, Wilson formed The Beach Boys with his brothers Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friends Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston.
